I was searched again a few times today, guns pointed at me. 'Spread flat on the floor and put your hands on your chest'! Then a bag search and document check. A few searching questions. I must look suspicious. But I'm so impressed with the Ukrainian army, national guard and volunteer forces who are so professional and thorough. Tough but fair. They are always friendly and apologetic when they understand we're on the same side. There are now checkpoints on every corner, there must be thousands all over the city. Stores still have plenty of food but the waiting is long and alcohol is now prohibited. There's a solemn, sober determination in the air.
